Founded by interior designer Rodman Primack in 2010, RP MILLER TEXTILES is a natural extension of the New York-based design firm RP MILLER. This textile collection, Rodman's first, is based on 18th and 19th Century Japanese woodblock prints. Although these are not literal historical reproductions, various themes and details have been abstracted to create something new that is meant to evoke, not replicate, the prints.
Rodman has always been inspired by Japan and spent much of his childhood in his grandparents’ modernist Japanese beach house in California which was filled with textiles, antiques, lacquer ware, ceramics and art from their travels. The collection is very personal and is in many ways an homage to his grandmother and all the beauty and adventure they shared.
The fabrics are all hand printed in Los Angeles on beautiful Belgian linen grounds.
